Bourbon Barrel Aged Hobo Imperial Stout with Vanilla Bean

Caboose Brewing Company’s Hobo Stout has been around since the very beginning. Since we opened our doors in 2015, Hobo has been on tap. We’ve experimented with our Hobo several times throughout the years. Everything from adding adjuncts like Vanilla, barrel aging in wine and whiskey barrels, and even bottling at one point. In fact, it is the only beer Caboose has ever bottled!

After we heard great feedback from canning our Vanilla Bean Hobo Imperial Stout, we decided to age our Hobo in bourbon barrels, and can this as well!

The Bourbon Barrel Stout reminds our Brewery Operations Managers of his happy place- campfires. To Ryan, “It's a reward for a hard days work, when you can finally kick your feet up, be with the people you love, and bask in the warmth of both -- love and fire...and of course a strong beer.”

Executive Chef David Rabin says, “The hobo stout is a great beer to have while sitting by the wood stove staying warm with family.” He says the stout is a “great bonfire beer that’ll keep you warm.” It’s a “beer that hugs you from the inside out. With the caramel and vanilla flavors that warm the soul like your favorite bourbon.” This was one of David’s dad’s favorite beers. So needless to say, we hold this beer very near and dear to our hearts.

Our coffee extraordinaire Derek, says he is so excited for this beer, specifically so he can pair this beer with a maduro cigar. So here you go, Derek!
